Ask what they would not do
Any agency will tell you what they can deliver. A good one will also tell you what is a bad idea for your business right now. If everything you suggest gets an enthusiastic yes, you are talking to a sales team, not a partner.
Look for results in your situation, not their best case
A case study from a funded brand with a huge ad budget says very little about what happens to a regional business with a modest one. Ask for examples that resemble your size, sector and starting point.
- How long until the first measurable result?
- Who exactly does the work day to day?
- What happens if performance stalls?
- Do I own the accounts, data and creative files?
Insist on pricing you can read
A detailed proposal with clear scope and no hidden charges protects both sides. If the pricing is vague at the pitch stage, the invoices will be worse.
